Ah, well this went ok, I loved the modeling process! I didnt have enough time for composition/rendering and final paints because I only started halfway through the competition, leaving me 1 week to do it all up.

Sorry for the delayed updates, life, work, and other art priorities getting in the way. Many updates will be coming shortly, especially one large one upcoming.
Otherwise I am busy with web, direction and other random bits.

Something a little different done this weekend. A gun. Not that it was all done this weekend, it has been an extensive process done slowly over the last few weeks while working on numerous other things, and the most complex, planned piece to pass through my new workflow.

Got some quick work here, we needed some concepts on mutant tunnel hubs and a bit of environment sketching as well as a custom material done for the recent Developer blog found @ http://www.unearthlygames.com/community.php

basic stuff, but be sure to hit up those past dev blogs also to learn more about the game! Images are a bonus.

and a 15 min speedsculpt of a rather generic head. Need to practice more!

Not putting quite as much time into sculpting for the next few weeks, preparing for a large upcoming phase of the project that requires extensive visual planning and design work, so the design doc is pumping and the pencil running while I learn compositing, keying and camera mapping.

For those who do not know, Under Gaia is a production by a new startup studio to which I am art director. We are working from a long-in-the-making proprietary engine with state of the art features, many of which have not been seen even in AAA games of today. Under Gaia is an RTS, more info on which you can find directly in the *community* tab in the website above, and browsing back through the dozens of blog posts there will give you true insight into what is being built.

Sculpting #5 - Environment Quickie

Quick Sculpt, just under one hour for the environment asset sketch, all parts, and some messing around layout out a basic proportioned form...been too long, Ill have to get back to that another time. Been busy working on the game and playing some Battlefield 3. Should have some more art up along the weekend, plan to be doing lots of it.

Heres one speed sculpt from last week (bottom) and one from a training session earlier this evening (top) both were between 1-2 hours, as you see I am faster and better compared to last week ;p

Release of latest zbrush has allowed a change in my workflow, making it the primary tool, after 1 week of spending 9 hours a night setting out the workflow, I did some proof of concept speed sculpts, these are 1-2 hours each.
